Pastor Terry Addis is Senior Pastor at The Pointe.

Pastor Terry met Pam shortly after his graduation from high school, as she was finishing her senior year. They were married in 1980. They were blessed with the birth of Michelle in January of 1982, and 7 years later Pam and Terry added the finishing touch to their family with the birth of Monte. For many of those early years, Pastor Terry worked in the construction field as a brick, block and stone mason.

Pastor Terry is an Ordained Bishop with the Church of God. He accepted the call into ministry at 27 and began the process of preparation, education, and licensure. Completing the Ministerial Internship Program (MIP) and the testing requirements for Exhorter license, Terry, along with his wife Pam, entered into ministry as a Pastor of Youth, Children and Christian Education at Southwest Metro Ministries (Then known as Peachtree City Church of God). Pastor’s first pastorate came in November of 1990 as he accepted appointment to a small community church in central Georgia. In July of 2000 Pastor Terry successfully completed the tenure and examination requirements to receive appointment into the highest ministry office of the Church of God, Ordained Bishop. Over the years he has served on all three elected boards for the Churches of God in the state of North Georgia (State Youth and Christian Education Board, State Evangelism and Home Missions Board, State Council). Pastor currently serves as a member of the State Evangelism and Home Missions Board.

World Missions is a passion for Pastor Terry. Over the past 12 years he has traveled extensively to Central America on short term mission trips, sharing in ministry as well as working to build a wide variety of ministry facilities. If you want to see his eyes light up just mention missions.

Pastor Terry and his family came to The Pointe in August of 2005. Having now spent 21 years in ministry, he moves forward in pastoral leadership with a passion and vision for becoming the church God calls and the community needs us to be.

Favorite Restaurant: Any really good steakhouse will do

Favorite Drink: Coffee followed closely by… coffee. Always black

Favorite type of food: Steak or Prime Rib- medium rare!

Favorite Dessert: Pam’s chocolate cake (I’ll stop with listing one because I have a huge sweet tooth!)

Favorite Music/song: Praise and worship/Revelation Song

Favorite time of year: Christmas season!

Favorite sport: Is watching TV a sport? To play- softball; to watch- golf

Favorite vacation spot: Since Pam and the girls love the beach that pretty much wins out every year. Cruising is one of my favorites!

Dream vacation spot: Alaskan or Hawaiian cruise

Hobbies: fishing, hunting, golf, TV

Something most people wouldn’t know about you: I love bluegrass music. Allison Kraus is my favorite followed by the Isaacs.

What makes you laugh? America’s Funniest Home Videos! I just love that show!

What makes you cry: (or sad) When my girls (Pam, Michelle or Monte) are hurting.

Favorite Old Testament scripture: Jeremiah 29:11 (God’s Word Translation)  I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope.

Favorite New Testament scripture: Philippians 1:6 (The Message) There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.
