Hurting
Moms Grief Group |
||
|
Hurting Moms Grief Group was originally started by Debra Pulliam in 2004
after the passing of her 21 year old son,
After the passing of my seven year old daughter, Kate on 7/13/08, I was
given the advice by many to seek counseling. However, knowing that
all of the classes and schooling in the world would not enable a person
to council how one in my position should feel, unless they had gone
through that experience themselves, I had no desire to go.
Being at Toccoa Church Of God with Debra for several years, I
mentioned that we needed a group like this one, and she said that she
had been praying and seeking The Lord for guidance on starting this back
up at our church. With
Debra taking the lead and my desire to assist her, the group was started
back up November 2008.
Being with these ladies each month has helped me more than any counselor
ever could. They all
understand and know exactly what you are going through.
Hurting Moms Grief Group is a support group that is made up of Moms,
whom none are professional counselors and are meeting only as a group of
Moms to share our experiences with the passing of our child/children.
It is a time of
devotion and helping one another heal.
We meet the second Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at The Pointe
(formerly Toccoa Church Of God) in the Hospitality Room.
Please enter through the canopy at the gym, in the lower parking
lot. We encourage you to
bring another hurting mom, and we have invitations at each meeting to
pass along. A reminder can
be sent to you by email (preferred) or mail, for upcoming meetings.
